Your library, with you

Start with what moves you

An edition that starts with you.

Science, technology, culture or that interest only you have. Create your own categories and choose where to look: World, your country or your city, with stories connected to each place.

Choose your language and article length, enable the positive news filter or add your date of birth to guide age-based adaptation. Adjust everything in Personal, Interests, Where and Application.

Local intelligence, built into the app

AI runs on your Mac. For you.

NewsXD prioritizes the local Apple Intelligence model when available. If your system or chosen language does not support it, it prepares stories using a built-in alternative model, downloaded within the app.

Reading that fits you

Each story appears after its local adaptation and review are complete. You can consult the original sources: AI can make mistakes and does not replace your judgment.

A local library

Your news and preferences are stored on this Mac. Search your archive, create collections and come back whenever you like.

Offline, too

Keep reading what you have already downloaded. You need an Internet connection to discover new stories and load new photos.

Less noise. More perspective.

A place to read. And return to.

A visual edition with clearly identified sources. Filter by topic or place, find a story in your library, and save what matters in collections.

Adjust text size and appearance, explore connections between stories and navigate with the arrow keys. Escape takes you back to your edition without losing your place.

Your space

Ask your news.

Open the Your space panel and talk about the story you have open or the ones in view. Every answer cites the stories it draws on, with numbered links back to the text.

Start with a suggestion (key points, impact or what is still unknown) or write your own question. It runs on your Mac with Apple Intelligence or the alternative local model.

Context is captured when you send your question.

NewsXD LIVE

Listen to your edition.

Press LIVE in the top bar and listen to your news as AI-voiced summaries. Skip ahead, pause or go back, story by story, while you get on with your day.

LIVE needs an Internet connection: each story's text is sent to the NewsXD server, which prepares the summary and voice with OpenAI (marin voice). No account or API key of your own required.

Your edition keeps going

Close the window. Keep discovering.

While your Mac is awake, NewsXD keeps searching from the menu bar. Pause and resume whenever you like; quitting the app stops the searches. After sleep, it picks up where it left off.

New stories, one at a time

Each story reaches your edition when it is prepared and reviewed, without waiting for the rest.

Sources you can choose

Discover publishers from different places or limit searches to the ones you configure. Coverage depends on what sources publish and allow you to access.

Notifications on your terms

Enable macOS notifications for each new story, with its title, category and publisher. They require your permission and respect your system settings.

Search frequency adapts to new stories, server delays and connection errors. This is not a real-time news service.

Compatibility

A Mac ready for local AI.

NewsXD is exclusively for Macs with Apple Silicon M1 or later, from the range compatible with Apple Intelligence. Intel Macs are outside the scope of this version.

Apple Intelligence or a local alternative

To use the Apple model, NewsXD needs macOS 26 or later, Apple Intelligence available and enabled, and a supported reading language. When unavailable, it uses its built-in local model: you do not need to enable Apple Intelligence or install another app for that alternative.

The alternative model download is about 2.5 GB and shows its progress; you can pause and resume it. Allow additional space for the app, library and images. Apple models are managed by macOS and need their own storage.

  1. Choose your interests

Combine your categories with World, countries or cities. Your preferences are saved on this Mac.

  2. Prepare local AI

The app checks the available model and guides you if it needs to download the alternative.

  3. Read your way

Choose your language and article length. New stories and images need the Internet; your saved library stays available offline.
